Hajj: Kano governor donates N65m to 6,166 pilgrims

GOV. Abba Kabir-Yusuf of Kano State has donated N65 million to 6,166 pilgrims from the state for the 2023 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.

This is contained in a statement in Kano on Monday by the Chairman, 2023 Hajj Media Team, Bature Dawakin-Tofa.

According to the statement, the Director-General, Kano State Pilgrim Welfare Board, Alhaji Laminu Danbappa disclosed this on Monday during the post Arafat meeting with officials in Makka.

Danbappa was quoted as saying that each of the pilgrims would receive 50 Saudi Riyals, adding that the gesture was in recognition of the pilgrims’ good behavior in the Holy land.

He enjoined the pilgrims to ensure good use of the governor’s gift and their Basic Travelling Allowances (BTAs) and avoid reckless spending that might affect their wellbeing.

He also advised thes to be good ambassadors and portray positive image of the state and the country in the Holy land as well as pray for peace and tranquility in the country.

According to Danbappa, the board will begin issuance of 32 kilogramne luggage to the pilgrims together with Sallah gift donated by the governor. (NAN)
