THE Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA), has warned Kaduna residents to be mindful of the dry harmattan season to avoid fire outbreaks.

Muhammad Mukaddas, Executive Secretary of the Agency, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Kaduna.

He said that the harmattan season usually comes along with peculiar characteristics of fire outbreaks that if not properly handled would lead to disasters.

According to him, residents of the state need to be alerted to be sensitive about improper use of flammable materials.

He said that residents need to be sensitive to domestic gas, bush burning, leaving electrical appliances connected to the socket after use, use of charcoal to keep warm and indiscriminate dumping of cigarettes buds.

Mukaddas noted that the agency planned to embark on aggressive media campaign to prevent dry season disasters in the state. (NAN)
