Ike Ekweremadu, deputy senate president, 57, May 12. Born in Mpu, Aninri local government area of Enugu State, he was educated at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he earned his first and second degrees in law. He was a former associate lecturer in constitutional and labour laws at the university. He was also the principal partner, Ekweremadu and Co. He was first elected senator representing Enugu West senatorial district in 2003 and re-elected in 2007, 2011 and 2015. In the 2019 general elections, Ekweremadu has been given a fresh mandate to represent his senatorial zone in the Senate. He holds the national honour of commander of the Federal Republic, CFR, as well as the chieftaincy title of Ikeoha Ndigbo.
