Jonathan felicitates with Bayelsa’s Gov. Diri at 64

FORMER President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday in Abuja felicitated with his home Bayelsa governor, Sen. Douye Diri on the latter’s 64th birthday.

He commended the governor’s forthright leadership and commitment to the growth and development of Bayelsa.

Jonathan, in a statement personally signed by him and issued by his media aide, Mr Ikechukwu Eze, commended Diri’s commitment to the growth and development of the state.

He commended Diri for the significant progress his administration had recorded in ensuring peace, progress and the general welfare of Bayelsa citizens.

The former president also highlighted Diri’s commitment to people-oriented leadership and urged him to remain focused on offering impactful governance.

“I join your family, friends and the people of Bayelsa to congratulate you as you celebrate your 64th birthday.

“I commend you for your forthright leadership and commitment to the growth and development of Bayelsa since your assumption of office as governor.

“Your administration has, in the last three years, made significant progress in the areas of infrastructure, security as well as sports and the general welfare of citizens,’’ Jonathan wrote.

He prayed for God’s protection as Diri devotes his efforts to the task of developing Bayelsa and improving the lives of the people.

“I wish you more great strides and pray that God will bless you with wisdom and uphold you in victory and success in your quest for nation-building and service to humanity,’’ the former president added. (NAN)
