Joseph Waku, administrator, politician and senator, 71, June 12. Born in Waku, Guma local government area of Benue State, he was educated at Obid Primary School, Nassarawa State; London Institute of Public Relations. He was director of research and publicity, Nigerian People’s Party, NPP, 1979. Waku was a member of the board of directors Plateau Publishing Company, 1980; elected member, Benue State House of Assembly, 1983. He was appointed director of publicity, defunct NPP, 1979-1982; Benue State co-ordinator, Hope’ 92, Moshood Abiola’s Campaign Organisation, 1993. Waku was elected senator representing Benue State, 1999-2003.
