Kaduna NURTW re-elects Chairman, Tanimu-Zaria

THE National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Kaduna State branch has re-elected Malam Aliyu Tanimu-Zaria as the State Chairman for a second term of four years.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the new chairman was re-elected on Thursday following a unanimous decision by members of the union while the swearing-in ceremony took place at NURTW Luxury Hotel in Kaduna.

This development followed the union’s successful State Quadrennial Delegates’ Conference and election in line with the union’s constitution.

The Legal Officer of the union, Mr Samson Udaga, who administered the oath of office, charged the newly elected officials  to uphold the constitution in piloting the affairs of the union,

“We expect nothing short of dedication and integrity,” he said.

Tanimu-Zaria, in his acceptance speech, expressed gratitude to the members of the union for their trust and support.

“I am deeply honored by the confidence you have placed in me.I promise to carry everyone along and not to disappoint you,” he vowed. (NAN)
