IT WAS a day of joy and celebration for Amaechi Muoghalu and Obiamaka Ekumeku, as they tied the nuptial knot in Umuoji, Anambra State, on Saturday, October 26. The wedding, which attracted many dignitaries in social circles, took place at the Our Lady of Seven Sorrows Parish Umuoji. The couple met in a bank at Nkpor, Anambra State, in November 2012.
The groom said: “I went to New Parts branch of the UBA to make some transactions; she attended to me politely and her simple and down-to-earth nature and attitude towards me attracted me to her. Before I left, we exchanged phone numbers and got talking. There wasn’t any specific proposal; we just talked about moving to the next level at some point in our relationship.”
Muoghalu, who studied Food Science and Technology in Enugu State University is currently a business man at Main market, Onitsha, Anambra State, while Ekumeku is a Banking and Finance graduate from the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Imo State. They both live in Asaba, Delta State.
The wedding was attended by parents of the couple, relations, friends, colleagues and well-wishers. The officiating reverend fathers included Cletus Ike Okoye, Paschal Okeke and Ifeanyi
Ezeiloaku. Other dignitaries include Law Omenu, the sponsor, Jerry Ekumeku, Arize Muoghalu and Pius Muoghalu, groom’s elder brother and uncle, respectively, and Cosmas Ikeme.
