A Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday sentenced a 28-year old man, Ibrahim Nurudeen, to one year imprisonment for stealing motorcycle and other valuables.

The convict, who had no legal representation, was sentenced after he pleaded guilty of two-count charge on house breaking and stealing.

The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, sentenced the convict without an option of fine.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Chidi Leo, had told the court that the convict committed the offences on Oct. 20 at Narayi Area in Kaduna metropolis.

Leo said that the convict broke into the house of one Bello Rasheed, stole an unregistered Red Qlink motorcycle valued at N250,000 and a Techno Spark phone valued at N60,000.

Other items are one HP laptop valued at N180,000 and N50,000 cash.

The prosecutor said that members of a vigilance group caught the convict during patrol and handed him over to the police, along with the recovered stolen items found in his possession.

He noted that the offences committed contravened the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017. (NAN)
