MIGHTY Jets International Football Club on Saturday in Jos defeated visiting ABS FC of Ilorin 1-0 in a Match Day 4 fixture of the 2022/2023 Nigeria National League (NNL).

There was little to differentiate both sides in the first 15 minutes of the Northern Conference encounter played partly under the rain at the New Zaria Road Stadium.

The goal which handed the home side the crucial three points was scored by El-Kassim Mohammed in the 18th minute of the match.

Both sides had six points before kick-off, and Mighty Jets have now consolidated their position on top of NNL Northern Conference log with nine points after four matches.

Mighty Jets’ Technical Director, Isaac Salami, later described the match as an intense and difficult encounter.

Salami was however, excited that his team came out victorious once again having defeated Hypebuzz FC of Abuja with the same scoreline in a rescheduled match on Monday.

On why Mighty Jets were not scoring many goals, Salami told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that they would work on the team’s frontline to make the goals flow.

“Our target is to top the table in both the first and second stanzas of the NNL Northern Conference.

“Doing so will afford us the opportunity to compete in the play-offs, with the chance of gaining promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL),” he said.(NAN)
