RESIDENTS of Anambra State have been reminded that Saturday, November 26 is another environmental sanitation day.
Managing Director of the Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA) Mr. Mike Ozoemena who made this known in a press statement made available to the public noted that it is a day set aside by the government for our people to join in the cleaning of our state.
“Ndi Anambra are encouraged to participate fully in the exercise; clean their surroundings and desilt water channels around them.
“All residents are reminded that no human or vehicular movement will be tolerated within the hours of 7 am to 10 am; defaulters will be apprehended and sanctioned by law enforcement agencies.”
The statement further urged Ndi Anambra to bag their wastes and keep them in the front of their homes in line with the State Government’s policy on the door-to-door collection of refuse for onward evacuation by ASWAMA contractors.
The MD called on all citizens of Anambra to join in the exercise so that together we will keep our Anambra clean, green, prosperous and livable.
