NSCDC commends personnel over prompt response to duty

DR Ahmed Audi, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant General (CG), has commended the personnel for their prompt response to duty.
He said this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
Audi specifically appreciated men of the Operations Department of the Corps for their resilience.
“This is because once we give directives, especially to those in Operations, they carry it out and they implement it to the letter.
“And so, I want to commend them and equally charge them not to relent in their efforts as we need to sustain the tempo,” Audi said.
He praised officers and men of the Corps for their unwavering commitment, dedication to duties and for seamlessly working with sister agencies to ensure the country was adequately secured.
He reiterated that upon his assumption of office as the CG, he realised that to make a difference and change the narrative in Nigeria’s public office, one must work “extra hard”.
“You have to work overtime and out of normal working hours if you really want to make positive impact, that’s what I have seen.
“Secondly, Nigerians are generally good people but we don’t know what went wrong somewhere because people come with their parochial interests, rather than national interest and once you don’t satisfy them they go back to start planning things that are not good against you.
“So, that is one very challenging thing I have seen as far as public office is concerned but generally speaking, I think we are trying to cope with any challenge that we see on the job and I know that God is going to help us,” he said.
He reiterated that citizens should endeavour to contact security agencies once they sense any form of insecurity in their environment.
“If you see something, please say something, ” he said. (NAN)
