Ochei Marks 10th Year Remembrance of Parents

VICTOR Ochei, speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, marked the 10th anniversary of the death of his parents, the late Donald Okafor and Monica Juliet Ochei, on Sunday, January 26. The occasion, which attracted many dignitaries, family members, friends and well-wishers, including Emmanuel Uduaghan, Delta State governor, took place at Onicha Olona in Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state.
Other dignitaries that attended the ceremony were Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba, former chief of Naval Staff; Ikechukwu Aduba, commissioner of police, Delta State; Basil Ganagana, deputy speaker, Delta State House of Assembly and Peter Nwoboshi, chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta State. Others were, Justus Mogekwu, Bishop, Anglican Diocese of Asaba; Amechi Mrakpor and Pat Ajidua, members, Delta State House of Assembly, and Neworld Safugha, commissioner for directorate of local government affairs, Delta State.
Ochei is a graduate of chemical engineering from the University of Benin, Benin City. He later returned to the University of Benin where he earned a Master of Business Administration, MBA, Master of Science, MSc, in Corporate Governance from Leeds Metropolitan University, United Kingdom and a Certificate from Harvard Graduate School of Education on Improving Secondary School Education. He also holds Certificate in Good Governance from Oxford University, England. Recently, he added a law degree, LL.B, from the Delta State University. Ochei, who is a recipient of several awards and chieftaincy titles, is the longest serving member of the Delta State House of Assembly. He is happily married and has children.
