THE Anambra State government has said that the Ogboji -Onne-Achina road project and the internal roads within Peter University will be delivered in five weeks time.

Governor Willie Obiano gave the directive when he paid surprise visit to the project site to ascertain the progress of work.

He expressed satisfaction at the level of work done on the road, assuring that the road should be completed in five weeks time with all road infrastructures therein.

Marcel Ifejiofor, the commissioner for Works, said the 4.2 kilometre road was about 80 percent completed and being handled by a young competent contractor.

Ibeanu Izuchukwu, the managing director, Joviani Construction Ltd., thanked the governor for entrusting the company with such a project.

He said they had been fully mobilised and that the project would be completed as scheduled.

Jonas Benson Okoye, a most reverend and the auxiliary bishop of Awka Catholic Diocese, commended the governor for his magnanimity toward the people of Ogboji and Onneh.

“With the road done, it will be an easy pass for the University to obtain its accreditation from National University’s Commission,’’ the bishop said.

In the governor’s entourage are Marcel Ifejiofor, the commissioner for Works and Michael Okonkwo, the commissioner for Environment.

Others are Primus Odili, the chief of staff to the governor, and all the APGA candidates from Anambra South Zone.
