ANAP Foundation Poll on the 2023 Presidential Elections across the 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria. NOI September poll.

A new opinion poll on the presidential candidates for 2023 elections released on Thursday, September 15, by ANAP foundation saw Peter Obi of Labour Party, LP, holding a significant lead over both Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling APC and Atiku Abubakar of the opposition PDP.

The poll which was done in the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria in September showed Obi scoring at 21% to take first position while both Tinubu and Atiku are tied in second place with 13% each. Rabiu Kwankwanso of the NNPP is at a distant fourth with only 3%.

The poll also revealed that 74 per cent (about 7 in 10) of adult Nigerians interviewed disclosed that they are not registered members of any political party in the country.

Thirty-two percent of those polled who are females are yet to decided who to vote for. 

The poll, which cuts across gender, geographical locations, and age-group, was conducted in the week commencing August 15, 2022, and it is the second in the series of the monthly election polls conducted by NOIPolls as Nigerians count down to the general elections in 2023, according to a statement from the foundation.

ANAP Foundation is owned by Atedo Peter side, the founder of StanbicIBTC Bank

The first such poll in the election series – Citizen’s Trust in Electoral Integrity – was conducted in July 2022. The NOIPolls was founded by the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
