Pius Obanya, educationist, civil servant, 80, May 29. Born in Jos, Plateau State, he was educated at the University of Ibadan. Obanya was appointed senior lecturer and later professor of education, University of Ibadan. He was director, Institute of Education, Lagos State University, 1984-1985; programme director, education, World Teaching Profession, WCOTP, Morgues, Switzerland, 1986-1988. He was also assistant director, UNESCO, Regional Office for Education in Africa, Dakar, Senegal.
