PLASIEC publishes candidates’ personal particulars for Oct. 9 LG polls

THE Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) has published candidates’ personal particulars ahead of the Oct. 9 local government elections in the state.

This is contained in a statement by PLASIEC Head of Media, Koro Yakubu in Jos.

The published particulars, the commission said,  were for chairmen and councillorship candidates across the 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

”The particulars were published in accordance with PLASIEC’s transparency and accountability policy.

‘The candidates’ details displayed include the name, address, age, date of birth, occupation, and educational background, among others.

“Details of each candidate will be uploaded on our website, https://plasiec.ng, within the next seven days. It will also be pasted in the designated ward collation centres and PLASIEC offices in the 17 LGAs.

“This information can also be accessed at our Headquarters No. 7, John Mark Samci Road, Jos.

“The publication of personal particulars is a critical step in ensuring the integrity of the electoral process.

“PLASIEC is confident that this transparency will contribute to a more informed and engaged citizenry.

“We remain committed to ensuring a free, fair, credible, and peaceful election come Oct. 9, 2024,” the commission said. (NAN)
