Police arraign ”Okada” man for allegedly snatching woman’s handbag

THE police on Wednesday arraigned a motorcyclist, Thompson Stephen, in a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly snatching a woman’s handbag.
Stephen is charged with conspiracy and theft.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the offenses.
The prosecution counsel, Insp Ajaga Agboko, told the Court that the defendant committed the offense on Jan. 23 at Kasimu Ekeawode Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
He said that Stephen and one other, presently at large, snatched a handbag from a pedestrian, Ms Joy Udoh.
Agboko said that the bag contained a cell phone and money all worth N82,000.
The offense, he said, contravened the provision of Section 287 (7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Magistrate T.A. Idowu admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
Idowu adjourned the case until March 1 for a hearing. (NAN)
