Police confirm demolition of ARISE hospital project in A’Ibom

THE Police Command in Akwa Ibom has confirmed the destruction of the ARISE Hospital project of Gov. Umo Eno`s administration at Akoiyak in Ibeno Local Government Area of the state by hoodlums.

The command`s Spokesman, SP Timfon John confirmed the incident in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibeno on Wednesday.

NAN reports that the primary healthcare centres were  designed for  the 31 Local Government Areas across the state.

She said that the incident occurred at Akoiyak on Tuesday.

John said that the police had a report that some hoodlums destroyed the governor’s primary healthcare centre project in Akoiyak.

He said that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Joseph Eribo, had launched an investigation to fish out the perpetrators of the act.

“The report we have is that some hoodlums destroyed the property and facilities of the ARISE hospital project.

“The commissioner has launched an investigation to fish out perpetrators of the act, and that is the information at our disposal,” she said.

NAN reports that the project was flagged off on Aug. 14, while seven of the primary healthcare centres  were expected to be inaugurated  before the end of the year. (NAN)
