THE Proprietor of Excellent Nursery and Primary School Ilorin, Mr Femi Obadare, has called on parents to embrace education and imbibe learning passion in their wards.

Obadare  gave the advice in Ilorin on Friday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said parents had a role to motivate their wards towards academic success in life.

According to him, learning begins from home and should be encouraged by parents and teachers as their joint responsibilities.

” Parents must encourage their wards through their actions and advise when they are about to get tired .

” Stop sending them to hawk on the streets when they are supposed to be in classroom;  encourage them and counsel them on the importance of education.

” Invest in their education and make it first priority. Ask them questions about their schools. Don’t be too busy not to attend to them,” he said.

The proprietor, however, called on parents to lay a solid foundation for their wards by providing needed materials for learning.

He also advised parents to stop seeing their children’s education as optional, rather they should consider it necessary.  (NAN)
