Rex Insurance appoints key executives

THE Board of Rex Insurance Ltd. on Thursday announced the appointments of some key executives.

Mr Wilson Okoh-Esene, Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, Rex Insurance, confirmed that the appointees included Ms Adesola Akintayo as Executive Director, Technical, and Mr Abayomi Kayode as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Others are Adeyinka Aderombi as Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO), and Mr Kazeem Sulaimon as Head of Underwriting.

According to Okoh-Esene, the appointments have been approved by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).

Okoh-Esene noted that the appointments were made to ensure that Rex Insurance continues to exploit the opportunities available in the general insurance space.

“The appointees are expected to drive continued growth for the company, with a focus on technical competence, financial growth, and becoming a digital insurance company that offers efficient and seamless services to its clients,” he said.

Speaking on the appointments, the Chairman, Board of Directors, Dr Ike Chioke, said: The appointees will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s strategic initiatives and fostering continued growth”.

 He added that the new executives brought a wealth of experience and expertise to Rex Insurance.

Their extensive background in their relevant positions makes them an invaluable asset to the organisation.

“They all have a strong reputation for innovative thinking, exceptional leadership, and a deep understanding of the industry landscape,” he said.

Chioke also expressed confidence that the new executives would propel Rex Insurance to new heights and reinforce its position as an industry leader in the insurance landscape in Nigeria.

He stated: “Their strategic vision and ability to drive operational excellence will be instrumental in guiding us towards continued success and expansion”.

According to him, Akintayo will drive continuous growth and profitability as the Executive Director of the Technical Department.

“Kayode will focus on ensuring the financial wellbeing of the organisation, optimising resources, and driving long-term profitability.

“Aderombi will lead technological advancements, ensuring that Infrastructure Technology supports business growth, operational efficiency, and innovation in Rex Insurance.

“Sulaimon, as the Head of Underwriting, will ensure that the insurer becomes a major player in risk management practices,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Akintayo has nearly three decades of experience in underwriting, reinsurance, claims, and risk management.

Kayode, on the other hand, has previously served as the Chief Financial Officer in two other insurance companies.

NAN also reports that Aderombi is an Information Technology leader with over 20 years of experience in Information Technology and Digital Innovation, Transformation, and Business.

Sulaimon is a seasoned insurance professional with close to two decades of experience in insurance underwriting.

Rex Insurance is licensed by NAICOM to offer a full range of general and special risks insurance products.

With these new appointments, the company is well-positioned to continue its growth and expansion in the insurance industry.
