THE South East summit on economy and insecurity will hold on September 28, at the Landmark Event Center, Owerri, Imo State.
A statement on Thursday, September 14, made available to Realnews by Emeka Ugwu-Oju, founder, Nigeria and Entrepreneurship Summit & Honors, NESH, Foundation,
stated that stakeholders from the public and private sector will converge for the inaugural South East summit on Economy and Security.
It stated that “This landmark event is being promoted by the South East Governors Forum and will have in attendance as joint hosts, all the 5 governors of the South East Nigeria.”
The chairperson of the Summit Planning Committee is Senator Chris Anyanwu and the following are key sub-committee chairpersons: Security – Chris Okoye; Economy- Abraham Nwankwo; and Contact and Mobilization – Ambassador Humphrey Orjiako.
The statement said that the director general, South East Governors Forum, Senator Uche Ekwunife is supporting the summit planning committee, while Nigeria and Entrepreneurship Summit & Honors (NESH) Foundation, has been requested to coordinate the effective participation of South East entrepreneurs and key South East organized private sector players at the event.
The summit aims to chart a new course and joint development agenda for the South East Nigeria, and to reach a consensus on a road map to quickly restore the region as a leading sub national economic competitor and a peaceful, secure region amongst fast developing global economies.
