State-wide fumigation: Lawmaker lauds Fayemi’s dogged fight against COVID-19

TUNDE Idowu, the Chairman, Ekiti House of Assembly Committee on Environment. has lauded the efforts of Gov. Kayode Fayemi in the fight against COVID-19 in the state.

Idowu gave the commendation during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, (NAN) on Thursday, in Ado-Ekiti.

The lawmaker, representing Ikere Constituency II at the State House of Assembly, applauded the fumigation exercise embarked on by Ekiti government across the state.

“I want to applaud Gov. Kayode Fayemi for leading the fight against COVID-19, the present dreadful enemy of the world.

“Fayemi is not only leading from the front, he is fighting the battle against Coronavirus with all resources available to him with rare determination and tenacity of purpose.

“I want to say that the state-wide fumigation exercise commenced on Sunday, May 17 with the use of drone and motorised sprayers.

“The aim of the exercise is to disinfect every nook and cranny of the state, as part of effort by the present administration to curb spread of COVID-19,” the lawmaker said.

He advised Ekiti residents to cooperate with the government and follow strictly the instructions from the State Task Force on the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

“I want to assure Ekiti people that with Gov. Fayemi leading us, we are sure that by God’s grace we are going to win the battle against COVID-19.

“This season shall be over, I urge Ekiti people to cooperate with government by staying safe,” he said. (NAN)
