ALHAJI Aminu Abdulkadir-Mbamba, the newly appointed Walin Adamawa in the Adamawa Emirate Council, said he would use his new position to promote and defend tradition, values and the cultural heritage of the emirate.

Mbamba made this known while speaking with newsmen in Yola on Monday  over his recent elevation by the emirate council  from the  title of Hurumin Adamawa to the exalted position of Walin Adamawa and a king maker in the council.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  reports that his elavation  was sequel to the recent  demise of the former Walin Adamawa, the late Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Alhaji Sunusi Barkindo.

He expressed determination and commitment in using his position towards promoting peace, unity and understanding amongst Nigerians, especially those who patronised the emirate council.

He lauded the efforts of His Royal Highness the Lamidon Adamawa, Alhaji Barkindo Mustapha, for his good leadership qualities, especially on his regular wise and elderly counselling on issues affecting the corporate existence of the nation.

Mbamba assured that he would use his wealth of experience to support, promote and champion the good cause of justice, unity and transparent disposition for which the emirate council was known, saying his loyalty to the council was unwavering.

He thanked the Lamido for considering him worthy of being elavated to the enviable position and pledged to be a loyal and dedicated council member.

He explained that  the emirate council would soon announce the day for his formal coronation to enable him to settle  for business of the newly tasking office. (NAN)
