Umana Okon Umana, former secretary to the state government, SSG, Akwa Ibom State, 58, August 20. He was educated at St Patrick’s College, Calabar, 1972-1976; University of Calabar, 1976-1980; University of Port Harcourt, 1984-1987. He was appointed lecturer in Economics at the School of Basic Studies, SBS, Akamkpa; principal, budget department, Governor’s office, Uyo, 1989; state’s director of budget, 1998; permanent secretary, budget office, Akwa Ibom, 2000-2003. He was appointed commissioner for finance, Akwa Ibom State, 2003-2007; secretary to the state government of Akwa Ibom in 2007, and was reappointed in 2011.
