Wife of Kaduna State Governor, Hajiya Ummi El-Rufa’i, on Wednesday urged on women in the state to vote for her husband and other APC candidates in the Saturday elections.
El-Rufai made the plea in an interview with newsmen during the grand finale of the ‘APC GIDA-GIDA’, meaning APC HOUSE-HOUSE Campaign in Kaduna.
She said: “We have called our people here to celebrate and to thank them for the votes cast for President Muhammadu Buhari.’’
She also pleaded with women and other voters to come out en masse and vote for Gov. Nasir El-Rufai on Saturday.
‘‘We are requesting for higher turnout and higher votes so that he can return to his seat by the grace of God,” she pleaded.
El-Rufai expressed hope that huge turnout of voters would translate into massive votes for the APC candidates on Saturday during Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.
Also, the other wife of El-Rufa’i, Hajiya Hasiya El-Rufai, thanked women for the massive support given to President Buhari on Feb. 23 during the election, which the latter won.
‘‘We want you to know that we are indeed very grateful and will forever be grateful.
‘‘We also want to call on you (women) to come out en masse as you did during election of the President so as to show support for Nasir El-Rufai’s reform programmes,” she said.
She also appealed to the good people of Kaduna State to remain calm and shun all acts of violence before, during and after the elections. (NAN)
