VOTING was stalled temporarily at polling unit (PU) 22, Junction of Ohafia/ Ago Palace Way, Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Area, over unstamped ballot papers.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that when the voting process started, voters observed that the ballot papers were not stamped.

The process was stalled temporally to allow for the stamping of the papers, so that voting would resume.

The ballot papers were eventually stamped  and the voting resumed within 45 minutes.

One of the voters, Mr Innocent Chukwuma, told NAN that this should not have happened if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had trained the members of staff heading the polling units on the processes of voting.

A voter, who does not want her name to be mentioned, alleged that the unstamped ballot papers might be an over sight or a deliberate action.

According to her, it is a good thing that they observed this, so all the time of waiting would have been wasted,” she said.

Also another voter, a trade, who wanted to remain anonymous,  said that the unstamped ballot papers might be an over sight or a deliberate action.

“It is a good thing that we observed it immediately, unless all the time were spent voting would have been  invalid,” she said.
