PETER Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party has affirmed that he won the February 25 presidential election.

Obi made this claim today in Abuja during a press briefing noting that he and his team will explore all peaceful and legal processes to claim back the mandate of Nigerians.

While addressing the media, Obi who has not made any media speech since the just concluded elections, debunked the viral speeches saturating the social media purportedly emanating from him.

In his words, “I have not spoken or released any message since after the February 25 election; my last comment on media was after voting on February 25. This is my first speech to the media.”

He reiterated that his candidacy remains committed to the birth of new Nigeria built on justice, fairness and equity noting that for anyone to be addressed as “Your Excellency”, the process through which the person gets into the office must be excellent.

However he noted that a new Nigeria may not come on a platter and it should not be expected to be easy, but he assured that it is possible, adding that the various attacks are testimonies that a Nigeria is possible.

He condemned the process of the election and result collation and announcement noting that the elections did not meet the minimum standard of a free, fair and credible election.

This elections “have been conducted and the results announced as programmed,” he said.

Obi therefore admonished Nigerians to remain peaceful, law abiding and conduct themselves in a lawful manner.

He also called on Nigerians not to allow the current situation to decide their participation in the governorship election scheduled for March 11.

“Go out on March 11 and vote, vote for Labour Party”, he called.
