Wheelchair Basketball: Lagos beat Oyo 43-33 in final

LAGOS team wheelchair Basketball on Tuesday defeated Oyo 43-33 to win the maiden edition of the 2024 Betking Wheelchair Basketball League fantastic final four.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that in the final match played at the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja, Lagos team won all the quarters of the final match.
They beat Oyo in the first quarter 15-13, and a diffrence of five points in the second quarter 25-20.
While in the third quarter, they defeated Oyo 33-26 and in last quarter 43-33.
Speaking after the match, Micheal Owoyele,the coach of Lagos team said their target was to win the league.
“We were devoted to the game, we trained together before the competition,
“We played as a team, we were not selfish with the ball , we communicate to each other.
“We defeated Oyo in the atlantic conference and in the final match but I must confess, Oyo also have a set of good players in their team.
“We were determined to win the league and wanted to make Lagos proud,”he said.
Kafayat Ogbara, a member of the House of Representatives from Lagos, expressed happiness over the victory of the team.
“I am so delighted to be here today to support my constituents because some of them are from my constituency..
“I congratulate the team for their efforts, their hard work, for their resilience and their determination,
“I knew they were going to win, I trusted the team and I believe in them and I congratulate Lagos state for this victory,” she said.
NAN reports that Kwara defeated Kano 39-7 in the third place match to finish third.
Lagos won N500,000, Oyo N300,000 while Kwara finishing third won N200,000 as prize money.
NAN reports that the 2024 Betking Wheelchair Basketball League fantastic final four which started on Monday ended on Tuesday.(NAN)
