THE Women Arise for Change Initiative has condemned out rightly the abandonment of the three-day-old baby in a toilet pit by her unconscionable and callous mother in Otuocha in Anambra East Local Government Area.

The attitude of the wicked and devilish mother is insensate, inhuman, barbaric and worst man’s inhumanity against man.

In a statement issued endorsed by Vincent Ezekwueme, Chairman and Chinyere Amah, Secretary, respectively tagged “injustices done to one is injustices done to all”, the group calls on education formulators to introduce without delay moral ethics in schools as the society, state and country is degenerating into decadent, putrefying, corrupt and moral bankrupt society.”

“It is an anathema, highly detestable and despicable that such impunity and iniquity took place in Anambra State dominated by Christians.

“This is a clear indication that all is not well, hence the inevitable need for all hands to be on deck to inculcate moral rectitude, discipline, respect for human dignity, sanctity and sacredness of human life.

“It is disheartening and disgusting that innocent baby died while receiving treatment at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Awka.

“We commend the wife of the governor, Nonye Soludo and Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Ify Obinabo, for their prompt humanitarian disposition and interventions,” the statement said.

The group also called for urgent and immediate prosecution of the culprit to act as deterrent to others.

The group called on parents, guardians and most importantly mothers should monitor and observe their daughters and female house helps and properly counsel and guide them in case of unwanted pregnancy.

“All hands must be on deck to inculcate the fear of God and moral rectitude in our youths in order to eradicate impunity and absurdity in the society and state,” the group added.
