Yerima Parker Ahmed, playwright, dramatist, cultural administrator, 59, May 8. Born in Lagos, he was educated at the Lagos Baptist Academy; University of Ife; University College, Cardiff; Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, University of London, and Open University, England. Ahmed is an adjunct senior lecturer at the Creative Arts Development, University of Lagos. He is a recipient of the 2006 Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas, NLNG, prize for literature and he is the author of more than 25 plays, including Hard Ground; Attahiru, The Trials of Oba Ovonranwem and Tafida.
