Jonah Jang, retired air force officer, administrator and governor of Plateau State, 69, March 13. Born in Du, near Jos, Plateau State, he was educated at Riyom Primary School, Du-Jos, 1953-1956; Riyom Senior School, 1957-1959; Plateau Provincial Secondary School, Kuru, 1960-1964; Air Force supply operations course, USA, 1972; Junior Command and Staff School, 1975; Command and Staff College, Jaji, 1978-1979. Jang was commissioned as regular combatant officer, 1969. He was appointed military governor of Benue State, 1985-1986; military governor of old Gongola State, 1986-1988; director of logistics, Nigeria Air Force, NAF, headquarters, Lagos, 1988. He was elected governor of Plateau State in 2007 and re-elected for second term in 2011.
Abubakar Gimba, economist, author and administrator, 61, March 10. Born in Niger State, he was educated at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Gimba was permanent secretary, Department of Planning and Budget, Office of the Military Governor, 1983-1984. He retired from the service of Niger State government March 1987, and was appointed executive director, management services, Union Bank of Nigeria Limited, now Union Bank, PLC, February 1988.
Michael Subomi Balogun, lawyer, banker and administrator, 79, March 9. Born in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, he was educated at Igbobi College, Yaba, Lagos; Nigeria College of Arts, Science and Technology, Ibadan; London School of Economics, London University; Lincoln’s Inn, London, and became , Crown Counsel, Western Regional Ministry of Justice, 1961. He was principal counsel and secretary, Nigeria industrial Development Bank; chairman and chief executive officer, First City Monument Bank, FCMB. He holds the traditional title of Otunba Tunwase of Ijebu-Ode.
Robert Adeyinka Adebayo, retired major general, politician, 85, March 9. Born in Iyin-Ekiti, Ekiti State, he was educated at the School of Infantry, Accra, Ghana, 1951; Staff college, Camberley, England, 1965-1966. He was aide-de-camp to the governor general of Nigeria, 1957- 1958; promoted captain in 1957; major, 1960; lieutenant colonel, 1962. He subsequently served in the United Nations Peace- keeping Force, in the Congo, DRC, 1961-1963; promoted colonel, 1964; appointed military governor of defunct Western Nigeria, 1966-1971; promoted brigadier, 1967; major general, 1971; became a member, federal executive council, 1967-1971; appointed commandant, Nigeri Defence Academy, NDA, 1971-1975. He retired from the Nigerian Army in 1975.

Udoma Udo Udoma, as the board chairman, Union Bank of Nigeria, UBN, he replaced Richard Kramer. Udoma , a two time senator has held several positions in the past. Some of the positions include, special adviser to the minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, chairman, Security and Exchange Commission, SEC. A lawyer by profession, Udoma is currently the senior partner, Udo Udoma and Bello Osagie, a corporate law firm established in 1983. He is also the chairman of United African Company, UAC, and a director, Unilever Nigeria PLC. He is a recipient of Commander of Order of Niger, CON.
