Traditional ruler to corps members: Respect culture, traditions of your host communities

 THE traditional ruler of Ise-Ekiti, Oba Adetunji Ajayi, has called on corps members in the state to respect the culture and traditions of their host community while carrying out their one-year mandatory assignment.

The Arinjale of Ise-Ekiti , who was represented by Chief Kolawole Abdul, made the call during a  lecture on the culture and traditions of the people of Ekiti.

The programme was held at the National Youth Service Corps,(NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp, Emure-Ekiti, in Emure Local Government Area.

Ajayi noted that culture and tradition are fundamental to the peoples’ existence.

”You might experience some of the cultures during your  service year. I urge you to respect the traditiosn and peculiarity of the Ekiti people,” he said.

The traditional ruler assured the corps members of their safety throughout the period they would live in the state.

He enjoined them to enjoy every bit of their service year in Ekiti.

He congratulated the corps members for the completion of the studies and eventual mobilisation for the NYSC, describing the opportunity as a reared one.(NAN)
