THE Delta Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban), Mr Reuben Izeze, says the State Government, under the leadership of Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori, will deliver projects that will stand the test of time.

The Commissioner stated this during an inspection tour of Section C of the Ughelli/Asaba dualisation road on Wednesday in Asaba.

Izeze said, ”the State Governor has promised the people of the state to expect MORE from his administration.

”And whatever he will be inaugurating in the course of his administration would be projects that will stand the test of time.”

Izeze assured the people of the State that they would always get value for their money for every project executed in the State.

”We are here for an on-the-spot supervision, to see for ourselves. No more cutting of corners in project execution in the state.

”For every money that would be spent by this administration, we intend to get value for it.

”I will not sit in the office for somebody to raise a certificate of project completion without me visiting the project site before approval,” he said.

Izeze also added, ”For my ministry, no certificate will be raised without me paying an on-the-spot assessment visit to inspect such a project.

”This will ensure that for every project being executed will give us value for money and for us as a ministry, we need to be on the field more than often than it used to be.”

The commissioner, who, however, commended the contracting firm, CCEC Construction Company, for the level and quality of job done so far, assured that the State Government would fulfill all its obligations as regarding the project.

”I must commend the contractor for the level of job done so far. The quality of the job is outstanding though we will still come back before the completion of the project.

”The contractor is also working with specification,” he said.

The commissioner also reiterated  the commitment of the present administration to complete all ongoing critical projects which were initiated by the previous administration.

In his remarks, the Zonal Manager of CCEC Construction Company, Mr W-U Yuaru, assured that the project would be delivered as and when due.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 25-kilometre road project which had suffered setbacks from previous administrations, was re-awarded in 2019. (NAN)
