FRSC confirms 2 dead in Ogbomoso road accident

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of two persons in an accident involving a TVS tricycle and an articulated vehicle along the Ogbomoso/Ilorin expressway on Tuesday.

The spokesperson, FRSC, Oyo Sector Command, Mr Mayowa Odewo, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan that a male and female adults lost their lives in the accident.

He said that six people, made up of four male adults, one female adult and a child, were involved in the accident.

Odewo said a container fell off the DAF truck on the tricycle at Taakie roundabout, Ogbomoso, leading to the death of the two persons.

He noted that the male victim died at the scene of the accident while the female victim was confirmed dead at Bowen University Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso.

“The remaining victims of the accident are currently receiving treatment at Bowen University Teaching Hospital, while the crashed vehicles and other items recovered have been handed over to the police.

“Sadly, no victim was saved by seat belts or other defensive gadgets,” he said.

Odewa cautioned drivers and other road users against excessive speeding and indiscriminate parking. (NAN)
