THE Management of Jigawa Golden Stars FC has issued a two-match ultimatum to its Head Coach, Ado Mato, to improve and get back to winning ways or take the exit door.
The club’s Chairman, Alhaji Gambo Umar-Labbo, disclosed this on Tuesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse.
Umar-Labbo said that the coach was expected to take the maximum points from their next two matches.
He said that failure to achieve that would leave the management with no choice than to seek fresh hands.
“It is normal, when a club is not performing and it is observed that it is the coach that has problem with his technical know-how.
“For instance, a coach is the one who has experience when it comes to selection of players, he is also the one to substitute players where there are lapses,” Umar-Labbo said.
He said that not substituting poor players with good ones should be blamed solely on the coach.
The chairman said: “So, these are some of the shortcomings we’ve noticed in him and that’s why we decided to give him a two-match ultimatum.
“If he improves fine, if otherwise, then we replace him.
“This is normal, isn’t it?”
NAN reports that the club lost two and drew two matches from four opening fixtures in the ongoing NNL and will now play host to Wikki Tourists of Bauchi on Jan. 11. (NAN
