Speaker Abbas sad over death of Sarkin Gobir in kidnappers' den

THE Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen, has expressed sadness over the death of the District Head of Gatawa in Sokoto State, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Bawa, in kidnappers’ den.

The bandits had kidnapped the late District Head of Gatawa and his son on July 29. The late Bawa was reported to have died in captivity.

Abbas said, in the first place, the bandits’ kidnap of the traditional ruler was barbaric, describing their treatment of the late Sarkin Gobir as inhuman.

He decried the continuous kidnapping for ransom in the country, stating that it is unacceptable.

The Speaker sent heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Sarkin Gobir, the Gatawa District in Sabon Birni Local Government, the people and government of Sokoto State over the irreparable loss.

He prayed to Allah to have mercy on the soul of the late Alhaji Isa Muhammad Bawa and make Jannatul Firdaus his final abode, according to a release signed by Musa Abdullahi Krishi, special adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, House of Representatives, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
